I often make picture frames using up odd pieces of wood.
This is one made from off-cuts of Spalted Beech.
The frame below, which uses lap-joints for the corners, was made from American White Ash.
The painting is by a local artist William Hindmarsh and depicts a northern street on a cold wet night.
It uses oil paint applied with a pallet knife on to a sheet of formica.
